Olympic Bronze Medallist wins the British Army’s International Modern Pentathlon at Sandhurst

Pentathlon winners

Yane Marques (a Brazilian Army Sergeant who gained Bronze at the London 2012 Olympics) won the women’s individual title at a prestigious international Army competition held at Sandhurst last week.  The men’s title was taken by German Army Corporal Alexander Nobis.  British Army successes included a particularly strong Cambridge officer cadet trio:  OCdt Ed Tusting won the men’s individual riding element, OCdt Emma Byatt finished as Runner-Up in the women’s individual fence and OCdt Laura Plant placed 3rd in the women’s riding.  Both females are previous winners of British Army BAE Systems Sports Scholarships. Full results are listed here.
